The ego I kind of had devoured

but lines i dragged out fingers would dry and crumble:
wires and rust-chunks;
words' depth absent.

but what bare scraps of rest unfurl today would evaporate tomorrow;

would lack the vividness of yours.

The Day After the FuneralHer Husky arises every few minutes,
in order to expose different parts of its mottled coat
to the flickering fire,
the dog turns in a lazy stop-start orbit
of fur and slurry-jawed yawns.

Beside the same dying flames,
a leather-bound Bible rests
on my Grandmothers lap,

an hour or so ago
the old rocking chair creak
fell silent,

now her head of silver hair
slouches to a side,
bifocals searching for escape
from the tip of her wrinkled nose,
the slow purr of her outward breath
makes a comforting sign
of late-evening life.

Like A Flash of LightLike A Flash of Light

This disease is something from hell,
and it takes the people we love
like a flash of light
without even giving them a chance to say goodbye.
It laughs in the face of your tears and agony.

It sits,
and it waits,
taking the ones we love the most,
without a warning.
And when it strikes,
it aims to kill.

So please,
smile at least seven times a day,
laugh like you mean it,
and always remember to keep loving the people around you,
because you never know who could be next.

Don't take things in life for granted,
and don't think that the people you love
will be in your life forever;

There was rain,
He was riding on a crowded train,
But where was he going?
Lonely? I guess that's the word to describe his feelings,
Amidst a million voices,
But where's the ones he trusted?
A cold stare looks his way,
But as quickly as it happened,

He walks out, to hear the sound of drunken piano playing.
To the sight of drugged people,
To the cold shoulders of society.
In this city of lights, why is he feels so much darkness?

With thorns so sharp and yet leaves so fragile
Red like the purest blood.
So harmless, yet so harmful.
Red rose of beauty let me pick you with fragility, take care of you
